Rajiv Shekhar specialises in applying interdisciplinary modelling and experimental techniques to explosion protection challenges in mining.
Skills and experience:
From 2014-2018, Rajiv was a researcher at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s national metrology institute and a world authority in explosion safety research. In this role, he worked on a scientific approach for predicting explosion risks due to electrical sparking in hazardous areas, focussing on applications of intrinsically safe (IS) systems. Prior to this, he held various roles in Mining3’s surface and underground coal-related research projects.
Rajiv is now the Principal Researcher on Mining3’s Electronic Spark Tester (EST) project.
