COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus and Mining3

25 March 2020

Att: All Mining3 Members, Project Partners and extended Stakeholders

Dear all,

Cases of COVID-19 continue to increase dramatically throughout Australia. As the country makes provisions for a lock down of non-essential services, we at Mining3 have prepared an action plan that enables our staff to continue to be productive while ensuring the necessary health and safety protection.
We are committed to promoting and adhering to the WHO and government guidelines for personal hygiene and social distancing to reduce the spread of viral infections. The health and safety of our employees, partners and their extended families are our utmost priority.

As of March 23rd, we have implemented a work from home approach for all staff capable of working effectively on desktop solutions remotely.

Our offices will remain open for staff whose projects need to access specialised laboratories or equipment. We will continue to operate this way until mandated otherwise by the state or federal government, further instructions from a research partner, or we deem the situation warrants. Visits by Mining3 personnel to mine sites are now being evaluated on a case-by-case basis with most sites limiting access to critical personnel only. All our staff are well equipped to utilise a range of virtual communications to engage with both internal and external contacts.

Mining3 project work will continue to progress.  However, we are continually evaluating the situation and updating plans where needed. This week we are working through all projects to identify potential bottlenecks or roadblocks for planned project work. We will be in contact with project sponsors where we expect COVID-19 will have an impact on project performance.

We have implemented a blanket international travel ban and limited domestic travel to business critical requirements. Some Australian States have begun closing their borders this week and Mining3 will comply with all governmental guidance(s) on domestic travel in the days ahead.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and adapt accordingly. Our goal is to keep all stakeholders up to date with any future project execution and operational changes.

If you have any queries surrounding how this impacts you or your organisation, don’t hesitate to contact me or our head office through info@mining3.com.

Kind Regards,

Paul Lever
