Erik is the Research Director at Mining3, a leading, industry-driven, research organisation. He leads research in mine process modelling and simulation, integrated mine process design and implementation, and the development of technologies for future mining systems. 

Erik has also worked for other mining-related companies such as Metso, Thiess, BHP Coal, and Groundprobe, managing and developing new technologies to support mining operations.

His strategic presence in China has strengthened partnerships with leading hydrogen technology providers (Feichi Motors, Houpu, Guofu Hee), driving innovation and positioning Chile as a player in green mining logistics.
